San Francisco Bay Area Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge
now through December 31, 2023
take the challenge
THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA SIX-PACK OF PEAKS CHALLENGE is a self-guided hiking challenge that takes you up six iconic peaks in the beautiful Bay Area.
Explore new mountains, test your limits, and level up your outdoor experience. Expand the boundaries of what you are capable of, all while helping support outdoor non-profits.
Complete the hikes in six months, six weeks or six days. You set the schedule that works best for you. The hikes start easier and work up to longer and more challenging climbs.
The mountains begin lower with Mount Umunhum, graduating to longer more challenging peaks, culminating with the 20.2 mile and 4,500′ climb of Rose Peak.
There are nine peaks to choose from – pick any six to complete the challenge or hike them all.
Registration begins at $50. Learn what's included with registration.

Supporting Outdoor non-profit organizations
What if you could give back to the outdoor places we love to explore while climbing mountains? We have partnered with some awesome outdoor non-profits that are helping do just that and you can join us.Â
Our outdoor non-profit partners include Big City Mountaineers, The Heroes Project, Leave No Trace, and Responsible Stewardship.
Our regional non-profit partner for this challenge is the Bay Area Ridge Trail, whose mission is to plan, promote and sustain a connected hiking, cycling, and equestrian trail on the ridgelines around San Francisco Bay—linking people, parks and open space for today and future generations.
our challengers love the six-pack of peaks challenge
